    Protection of Natural Areas

The Frontenacs have a rich natural environment which makes the region a unique place to live, work and play. There is a strong desire for a unified ecological identity in the Frontenacs based around the dozens of conservation, protection and preservation efforts undertaken by stakeholder groups.

    Current Status

    Vision Statement

The County of Frontenac's rich natural environment is thriving because of its commitment to integrated sustainability planning and stewardship. A set of principles and planning policies have been developed through consultation with residents, tourists and organizations that strive to balance the protection of natural areas with opportunities for discovering the outdoors. This results in a healthymosaic of ecologically managed forests, trails, farmland, wetlands and watersheds.
