This indicator tracks the amount of hazardous waste diverted in tonnes from County landfills to special handling facilities.
Why we collect it
The production of hazardous waste is sometimes unavoidable in modern industrial settings. And while we may not be able to eliminate this waste completely, ensuring proper disposal is an essential safeguard for residents and landfills. By monitoring this indicator we can measure our success in ensuring all hazardous waste is properly disposed of.
Unfortunately we have not yet been able to find data for this indicator. The ICSP is a living document that relies on input from the community to continue to grow. We welcome any suggestions on data sources for this indicator, new ways to define the indicator that would be more measurable, or suggestions for alternative indicators for this focus area.
