    Number of waste minimization/education initiatives

    What we collect

This indicator tracks the number of solid waste-related initiatives in the region.

    Why we collect it

With landfills nearing capacity throughout the County, waste minimization initiatives have become a strategic regional priority. Monitoring this indicator allows us to measure our success in encouraging solid waste initiatives that aim to reduce production.

Unfortunately we have not yet been able to find data for this indicator. The ICSP is a living document that relies on input from the community to continue to grow. We welcome any suggestions on data sources for this indicator, new ways to define the indicator that would be more measurable, or suggestions for alternative indicators for this focus area.
