This indicator tracks the most current estimates of remaining landfill life for sites across the region.
Why we collect it
Monitoring the changing lifespan of regional landfills provides an indication of our solid waste production. Specifically, it allows us to monitor the success of sustainability projects that aim to reduce the production of solid waste by residents and businesses.
Unfortunately we have not yet been able to find data for this indicator. The ICSP is a living document that relies on input from the community to continue to grow. We welcome any suggestions on data sources for this indicator, new ways to define the indicator that would be more measurable, or suggestions for alternative indicators for this focus area.
