Housing prices as price to income ratio

    What we collect

This indicator tracks the annual ratio of housing prices to income using the average value of homes in the County combined with the median income of residents.

    Why we collect it

The County of Frontenac is committed to fostering housing developments that meet the needs and restrictions of the region's income levels. The ratio of housing prices to personal income is a reliable measure of the affordability of housing. Tracking this indicator will allow the County to act so that housing is financially accessible regardless of fluctuations in regional income levels.

Unfortunately we have not yet been able to find data for this indicator. The ICSP is a living document that relies on input from the community to continue to grow. We welcome any suggestions on data sources for this indicator, new ways to define the indicator that would be more measurable, or suggestions for alternative indicators for this focus area.
